Raymond Christopher Chan died accidentally in January 2020 while pursuing his dream of hiking across Canada. He was 60 years old.

Raymond was born in December 1959 in London, England to parents, Lucius (Lou) and Anita (Babs) Chan. He was six when the family moved to Canada where he would become a citizen and remain the rest of his life.

As a young boy Raymond enjoyed family camping trips which would later fuel his passion for hiking and backpacking. An avid golfer throughout his life he especially enjoyed competing in the annual family golf tournament, made even more special when he was able to play alongside his sons.

Raymond is survived by his sons Richard and Daniel, siblings Wendy, David, and Paul, his parents Lou and Anita, his grandchildren Mikaela, Nicolas, and London and his partner Norma.

Raymond was put to rest in a private ceremony on September 26, 2020. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the heart and stroke foundation or a charity close to your heart would be appreciated.
