Raymond's obituary

Raymond J. Bader, 84, of Myrtle Beach, SC, passed away Monday, Aug. 3, 2020. Born in Jersey City, NJ, to the late Elizabeth Bader (nee: Mostyn), he was a U.S. Army veteran and past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council 371 and member of the Alhambra in Bayonne, NJ. Ray dedicated much of his time fundraising for children with special needs.

He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1992 after 35 years and moved to Myrtle Beach in 2006. Ray loved to bowl with his team weekly, have lunch dates with his grandchildren and exercise at the YMCA. He became a great-grandfather in Dec. 2019.

Known for his infectious smile, warm personality and gentle soul, he was a lifelong fan of the New York Yankees and New York Giants.

Ray was predeceased by his brother, Robert Bader; sister Gene Esperaza; son-in-law Robert Haskins; sister-in-law Carmen (Dolly) Mastromonaco; brother-in-law Louis Mastromonaco; and brother-in-law Gus Friscia.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Flora; his daughters Judy Haskins and Patti Ann Doria; son-in-law Nicholas Doria; granddaughter Alaina Doria-Parks and her husband, Adam Parks; grandsons Nicholas V. Doria and Matthew Doria; great grandson Adam James (AJ); sister-in-law Nina Friscia; and many nieces and nephews.
