Background
If you were lucky enough to have known my dad Ray you know without a doubt he would give anyone the shirt off his back.
Him being so brave, strong and stoic of course he didn’t ask for anything or complain. He only requested to have hospice come to the house and for him to go with dignity in the beautiful happy home that he and my mother created together in Wollaston.
So that’s what we did. He always took care of us and now it was our turn to care for him.
When my dad said he didn’t want a funeral/services I promised him I would honor him in another way.
Together we discussed planting flowers. I promised I would plant as many yellow rose bushes and hydrangeas as I could (his favorite and mine) at our Cape home.
The Cape is a place where he would relax, enjoy his two grandchildren and get waited on like a king.
A flower garden will be a great way for the kids to remember him and think of him - while they take care of “Papa’s flowers”.
I would also like to create a permanent memorial for him like a bench.
They don’t make them like they use to.
Some of the donations will be used for burial costs. Contribute
