Raul's obituary
With heavy hearts and loving memories, we announce the passing of Raul Martin Fuentes, affectionately known as "Nuno," who departed this life on January 24, 2026, in El Paso, Texas. He was 62 years old and a beloved resident of Fabens, Texas.
Raul was born into a close-knit family and carried with him a deep love for those around him throughout his life. His vibrant spirit and joyful presence left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered. Known for celebrating life to the fullest, Raul embraced each day with laughter and warmth that uplifted those fortunate enough to share in his company.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raul Fuentes Rodriguez; his grandparents, Jose and Irene Holguin and Pedro and Nestora Rodriguez; his great-grandmother Amada Medel Raya; his uncles Joe and Rolando Holguin; his sister Rose Cortez; and his brothers-in-law Jaime Chavez and Jaime Arvizu.
Raul’s legacy lives on through the many lives he touched. He is survived by his loving mother, Carmen Fuentes; his daughters Erika Fuentes, Suean Fuentes, and Paulette Fuentes; and his cherished grandchildren Selah, Genesis, Angelike, Joshua, Layla, Kaylanie, Anthony, and Jazelle. His enduring love also remains with his sisters Rachel Valenzuela, Patricia Chavez, and Judith Arvizu.
He shared a meaningful bond with his partner Roxanne Ibarra and her children. Raul is also remembered fondly by his uncle Robert Holguin; aunts Hope Holguin and Irene Perez; as well as numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart: Stephanie and Desiree Valenzuela, Carmella Sanchez, Amanda Tovar, Amber Rogalla, Orlando Flores, Michelle and Nick Carrasco, Bianca Hernandez, and Anthony Arvizu and Kimberly Stepp.
Raul’s memory will continue to shine brightly through the stories shared among family gatherings, the laughter echoing from past celebrations, and the love he so freely gave. His joyful spirit will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew him.
