Anthony's obituary
Raul Anthony Colon III, 52, entered his eternal rest on May 21st, 2022 in Harlem, NY. He was born in Bronx, NY, on January 17th, 1970 to Raul Anthony Colon Jr. and Arlene Colon. He attended schools in New York, NY and Allentown, PA, where he was named Orator of the Year. He was a jack of many trades and a master of loving his family. He worked as a certified CNA, construction laborer, and as a Chef. He shared his love for NYC with family and friends through attending Yankee games, visiting NY monuments, and enjoying the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade every year. He was an enthusiastic Chef, taking over the kitchens of family members to serve up his favorite love language, food. He enjoyed watching movies (especially The Godfather) and dancing to music. He was a bachata dancing Don Corleone. His family was his heart and his daughters were his pride and joy. He enjoyed spending time with each of them, cooking, dancing, and joking leaving an echo of his memorable laugh in their hearts.
He was survived by his daughters, Evita Colon, 31, of Lancaster, PA and Tatiyana A Colon, 24, of Lancaster, PA, his grandson, DJ, 8, three sisters, Melissa Nadal, of Atlanta, GA, Christina Sookram and Evita Sookram both of Tampa, FL, a cousin that was more like a brother, Eric Rios Sr., his loving companion, Cynthia Simmons and a host of family and friends. He was preceded in transition by: Raul Anthony Colon (Father), Arlene Colon (Mother) and accompanied in his transition by his grandmother, Emma Doris Quiros Colon.
Services will be held at International Hamilton Heights Funeral and Cremation Services at 1761 Amsterdam Ave., New York, NY 10031 on June 14th from 3-7pm followed by an Entombment Service, on June 18th, at 2pm, at Sunset Funeral Home and Memory Gardens, 11005 N US Hwy 301, Thonotosassa, FL 33592.
