Randy Allen Strait departed this earth on April 29, 2025. He will embark on a forever fishing journey up in heaven.

Randy was born in Des Moines Iowa on February 14, 1961 to Shirley Ceretti and Jimmy Strait. Randy lived on the Southside of Des Moines for most of his life, where he would eventually meet and marry his sweetheart Charlene Combs. They were blessed with two wonderful children. Randy earned a living by doing cement work. He was a cement contractor for 40 years. A hardworking and honest man he was. He lived his life for his family and friends, he was very kind hearted. He was a food connoisseur, especially when it came to pizza (that came from his Italian roots). He also made the best Italian Grinders. Friends and family always loved when he made them. Randy also was a huge four wheeler and fishing enthusiast. He and his family had several fond years of riding ATVs together, he also was an avid fisherman. He absolutely loved fishing with his son and son in law.

His memories will be cherished by his wife Charlene Strait of Des Moines; his son Jimmy Strait of Des Moines; his daughter Ashley Strait of Des Moines; his son in law Aladin Redzic; his mom Shirley Ceretti Brown of Ankeny; sister Valerie Wilson of Indianola; Brother Rick Brown of Glendale, AZ; his uncle Steve Ceretti of Des Moines; his uncle Ralph Strait of Des Moines; his half brother Joshua Strait of Des Moines; half sister Anna Strait of Des Moines;  his beloved dogs Jade and Jett; a host of nieces and nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on May 2, 2025. At St. Joseph Catholic Church at 3300 Easton Blvd in Des Moines, IA. Friends and family are kindly invited to attend.
