Randy lived to dive and dived to live. He was a quiet and thoughtful guy and always ready for a laugh. It was so fun to watch his enthusiasm for diving!
I met him in the BVI on his scuba boat. I was extremely green. He quietly watched me, helped me, and instructed me for several days. Then he asked me if I was certified and if I had any experience diving! I came for a week of diving with him twice, and I loved it and learned a lot from him. Then came the magical Pilau trip. I was out of my league with sixteen very experienced divers. The master diver told me that HE would be my buddyđ
Randy was always kind, helpful and supportive, because he was just that guy. What a dear heart he hadâĽď¸

I first met Randy while on a vacation in Tortola with my family in 1982. I was 18 years old. He and his beautiful wife, Maritha, worked at a local dive shop and were kind enough to take my brother, Chris, on his first diving experience.
As the years went on and my family continued to visit/reside in Tortola, we formed an extraordinary relationship with Randy and his family. He has always remained an essential part of our lives. I will always be grateful for his presence. He has been like a surrogate father to my brother at times, who has often looked to him for guidance and affection. Randy has always welcomed my family with a warm smile and an open heart, and I will always cherish the memories of his beautiful, sometimes mischievous smile and bright eyes.
One of my fondest memories of Randy was how he cared for my Mom during her 80th birthday celebration. She was struggling to recover after a severe fall, and he attended to her every need that night.
When Randy passed away, we all felt a significant loss. The ocean lost some of its sparkle and luster that day, as did we all.
We thank you for the memories and wish you everlasting peace.

Randy was an absolute legend!
I met Randy when I worked for Baskin in the Sun around 20 plus years ago.
I was always impressed by his wealth of knowledge, his calm and jovial demeanour and his natural people skills.
There were very few people that aspired I to be like, but Randy was one.
I will remember him as an exceptional human being whoâs approach to people and diving inspired me to continue a career in diving that spanned a further 15 years.
Rest in Peace brother!

I am heartbroken to learn of the passing of Randy and wish Maritha, Lauren, Austin and all that loved him my deepest "Best Fishes" for their loss.Â
I was fortunate to know and work for Randy at his Paradise Watersports Dive center around 2011. By far it was the best dive operation I have had the pleasure of working for and Randy's generosity and love of the environment were always on display. His personal library was always open to me as was his knowledge and passion for marine conservation. It amazed me the life he had lived and his stories from all the places and things that he had done. Â I knew then how happy and loved he was by his family and friends and he always made me feel like I was included in that.Â

I have fond childhood memories of Randy, the best dad to my dear friend Lauren (and later on, Austin too!). He was a super solid role model to have in our circle - very encouraging, supportive and loving. When I was old enough to be PADI certified, I got to experience him in action underwater for the first of many underwater adventures together. I proudly carried my open water diver card for 21 years with Randy Keilâs name attached before finally completing my advanced dry suit course. Randy was hugely impactful on my own life and I know I am in good company here. To Randy - I will always be searching for seahorses and seeing you there. xxÂ

My condolences to Randy's family. I first met Randy when we worked together at Baskin in the Sun. One of the kindest people I have ever had the privilege to know. He took each and every one of us who joined the team under his wing and shared his love and knowledge of the reef and ocean with us, his students and diver buddies. He will be greatly missed.

Randy had a âbubblingâ personality. Â Always a smile and happy greeting. Â When we took over Aquatic Centers from George Marler, he understood our circumstances and transitioned smoothly to his new bosses, Alan and Eva Baskin. Â The company renamed Baskin in the Sun, which he thought was cute.Â
Randyâs enthusiasm for the underwater world had the visiting divers excited before they even got in the water. Â While pointing out all the interesting sea life, he was also watching out for everyone and got them back safely to the boat.
We miss him terribly!
