Background

Randy was a proud devoted Father of 5 girls, ages 26,25,21,19 and 15. Our Dad was the most loving, brave, funny, goof ball. He made an everlasting impact on our lives and So many others. His spirit and heart were one of a kind and he is truly missed. Although he lived with Advanced Stage 4 RCC for 17 months after being diagnosed, this was still unexpected and very sudden. Our super hero Dad faced numerous obstacles his last few weeks such as, a perforated GI Tract Ulcer, invasive and unnecessary surgery for a “believed blood clot” that was never confirmed, being deprived of his needed oxygen for hours on end at his Rehabilitation Center(He wanted to go there before home so he could get his strength back, told you he was BRAVE) and unfortunately many more issues. Maybe we thought it was so unexpected because our Dad walked around for so long like everything was back to “normal “ pre diagnosis and a drastic change happened while in and out of health care facilities his last month. One day I was grocery shopping with my Dad, and the very next day he’d end up in the hospital and would never walk again. My Dad spent his last days at home in the care of his daughters and love of his life, our Mother. Looking back on those last days I feel many emotions. We watched cancer slowly, yet so quickly strip him of “him”. To see him suffer is the worst thing I have ever experienced in my time, yet being there to take care of him and hold him while he took his last breath brings me peace and comfort. My Father was not a religious man, neither was I. I only say that because one of the last things he said to us on August 27 before taking his last breath was “It’s real nice in Heaven”. Dad wouldn’t let us go anywhere before he made sure it was safe and sound first! I watched my Dad have fear of the unknown those last days, but those words have brought an ease and true belief in Heaven, and when my time comes I know My Dad will be the first one I see 🧡 Contribute   Right arrow
