Randy's obituary

Randolph Howard Funk, 74, of Cibolo, Texas, passed away peacefully on 31 May 2025 after losing a long fight with Intrahepatic Cholangiocarcinoma. He was the beloved husband of Meloney Joy Funk for over 26 years.

Randy is survived by his mother, Jane (Jones) Funk, his brothers, Charles W. Funk Jr., Robert G. Funk, his sisters Deborah J. Brass and Sandra Funk, his children Randolph J. W. Funk, Rachael L. (Funk) Hennigan, Jonathon M. Stone, and Ashley M. Funk; and his eight grandchildren. He was predeceased by his father, Charles W. Funk.

Born at Ross General Hospital in Kentfield, CA, Randy was known for his friendliness, sense of humor, and storytelling abilities. He was an expert hunter who loved to share the meat from those hunts. He served almost 17 years in the USAF Reserves and Active Duty. He continued to work as a Civil Servant with the Air Force for a total of 42 years.

Instead of a celebration of life and flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Per Randy’s request, we will not have a celebration of life. He will be buried in the Ft Sam Houston National Cemetery, date to be determined.
