I’m the pastor of a church about 1 1/2 hours from DSM. I was thinking about Pastor Randy when I was in DSM visiting a parishioner in the hospital the other day. I haven’t forgotten that many years ago Pastor Randy was my first visitor before I had surgery. He came back later that day after the surgery. It was so appreciated.

Condolences and Blessings to the Randall Waterman Family. My wife Sonia and I visited the congregation back in 1979 while I was a student at Central College (we would listen on the radio). We were inspired by his charisma and testimony after suffering a heart attack! Much Love and Praises!

I remember Pastor Randy once told me that if I didn’t answer God’s call to do the ministry God has called me to, then God would call someone else to do it. That taught me much about obedience.

I was always starting a new club; super hero, mystery, even blood club. Randy was really small, so I explained if he could give me money for supplies he could be the vice president of the club. So we from then on into adulthood referred to each other as Pres and V.P. This is only one of hundreds of memories we had together!!!

Great memories of Pastor Waterman, Betty & their kids when they were young. He used to hold prayer meetings at our home in Perry. Would love to hear from you, Betty as am in a nursing home right now.
Sending prayers,

I dreamed about Pastor Waterman last p.m. In the dream it was like Paul encouraging his young son in the faith, Timothy. Pastor was sitting across his desk from me. He was encouraging me to continue in the truth that I have learned, and continue to minister with passion and conviction. He then stood, walked around the desk, put his arm around me, and smiled.

This truly breaks my heart! I met Pastor Waterman when I was in Junior High School at Weeks. He would talk to me about the Bible and Corrie Tenboom’s books and her faith in God. I attended different churches with my family, my dad went on to answer the calling of God on his life and he opened a church. My husband was one of the assistant pastors for several years there. My husband passed away in September of 2021, my father passed away in October of 2022 and I was just looking for Pastor Waterman’s church when I came across his obituary. I guess I was too late to go visit him at his church, but I know one day I will see him, my husband and dad and what a rejoicing that will be. Pastor Waterman’s family and friends are in my thoughts and prayers.

I was sadden to hear of the passing of Pastor Randy. My deepest condolences to the Waterman Family and the parishioners of Celebration Church. He equipped a lot of warriors through his ministry works and his encouragement to others who worked fulltime in the ministry and adjoining professions to further the Kingdom.

I’m sorry to learn of the passing of your dear loved one. I remember Pastor Waterman’s smile. I also recall that many years ago he was the first visitor I had come to see me in the hospital when I had back surgery. He arrived even before my surgery, and prayed with me. He returned after the surgery, just in time to watch me take my first walk following the surgery. He sat in a chair in my room, as I walked across the room, and back. After walking across the room, as I turned around to make my return, he was smiling at me. He told me that he couldn’t be more proud of me than if I was his own son.

36 years ago I wanted to go away from this life, I told no one, my sister inlaw called me to go with her to a church over by the zoo, that people talked about,so I said ok,I noticed nails in the walls old folding chairs, unfinished walls, this preacher started preaching, and then started crying,he said the lord told him there was a lady here that the devil told her to end her life tonite,he said she knows who she is,he said he would like to pray for her,I just sat there ,he pointed to me and said its you with the plaid blouse on could I pray for you,I went up and Randy held my head and we both cried ,he said god said not to kill myself and the next 9 years of your life will be much better, it was and Iam here because of this wonderfull man.

It was my privilege to be Pastor Randy’s family physician for several years. He faced some challenging medical problems with unwavering faith in God. Every visit with Randy and Betty was a blessing to me. He started as my patient and became my friend. Rest In Peace dear friend. You will be missed by all who knew you. Larry Severidt MD
