Randall's obituary
Randall Perham, of Greenport, New York, passed away on October 3rd, 2024 after a long battle with cancer, in Missoula, Montana.
Born in Oakland, CA in 1946 to Linwood Perham and Ruth (née Beebe) Perham, he grew up fishing and exploring the beaches and waters of Greenport, Long Island. A man of many interests, he shared his love of art, architecture, literature, and history with all who would listen, and loved to cook for those at his table. Though his primary career was home construction and renovation–particularly of older homes that needed great care–he began as a high school English teacher, after studying at both SUNY Fredonia and SUNY Stonybrook.
It was in Riverhead High School where he met his late wife, Sue Montgomery, in the neighboring classroom. It was in teaching where he worked to inspire all children, and live his belief that “no child asked to be here, so we should show them a good time and good things if we can.” This extended to his four children, and all the friends that they brought home.
Randall passed the same night as his late wife Sue Montgomery, and is predeceased by his parents, Linwood and Ruth Perham, son Richard Perham, and his closest friend, Seymour Kleinberg. He is survived by his sister Candace Perham, his son Jonathan Perham, and his daughters Alison Montgomery and Audrey Montgomery.
