Randy's obituary
Randall Marshall “Randy” McCormick, 59, passed away on March 8, 2025, in Longview, Texas. Born on August 27, 1965, in Deridder, Louisiana, Randy lived a life defined by hard work, humor, and deep devotion to his family.
Randy spent 13 years working for LeTourneau before returning to his true passion—truck driving. He found fulfillment behind the wheel at Duncan’s Towing, where he combined his love of the open road with his unmatched mechanical skills. Known for being able to fix just about anything, Randy was a man who took pride in doing things right and doing them himself.
He was a straightforward man with a sharp sense of humor and an infectious laugh that could light up any room. His family and friends will remember him not only for his quick wit but also for his caring heart and unwavering love. Whether he was casting a line while fishing or watching WWE wrestling with enthusiasm, Randy embraced life’s simple pleasures. He especially enjoyed chicken livers—a favorite treat that brought him joy in its own humble way.
Above all else, Randy cherished time spent with those he loved. He is survived by his son Michael Putney; daughters Traci Garcia and her husband Levi Garcia, and Lacy McCormick; mother Lozane McCormick; sister Della Kelley and her husband Edwin Kelley; nephews Jeff Bias and Dustin Bias; niece Elizabeth Wilson; grandchildren Paul, Leilunn, Lilly, Allison, Bonnie, River, and Ember; and great-nieces and nephews Kinsley, Kyleigh, Bentley, Ava, Levi, and Lincoln.
He was preceded in death by his father Stanley McCormick and brother Marshel McCormick.
A memorial gathering to honor Randy’s life will be held on April 13, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Ore City Community Center located at 408 Althea Street in Ore City, Texas.
Randy’s legacy lives on through the laughter he shared and the love he gave so freely. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
