Randall's obituary

A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Randall Matthew Collins (“Randy” by the family and friends who knew him well), age 40, of Murfreesboro will be held on Saturday May 22nd, 2021 at the New Vision Baptist Church, 1750 North Thompson Lane, in Murfreesboro from 10:00am to 1:00pm. Randy passed from this life in the care of Vanderbilt University Medical Center on Tuesday afternoon April 19, 2021. Randy was born on May 15, 1980 to the late Steven Reagan and the late Vicky Hammock Black, but considered his adoptive parents, Darrell Collins and Patricia Collins, as mom and dad.

Randy was employed in the roofing and siding business for many years and demonstrated his work ethic and skills with his hands and endurance for long workdays, which he developed a strong bond with Marty and Chris Bedsaul who greatly valued Randy’s contribution to his business. When he wasn’t working, Randy loved spending time near any body of water, fishing with his buddy Mike, being with his son Austin, and family and friends. Randy was an organ donor, which his passing enabled four other people to gain another opportunity for life.

Randy is survived by his son Austin Collins of Murfreesboro and stepson Blake Davis; dad Darrell (Tonna) Collins of Murfreesboro and mom Patricia Collins of Dickson; brothers Bryan (Michelle) Collins of Nashville, Michael (Tiffany) Reagan and Chris Reagan both of Chatsworth, GA, and Travis Reagan of Dalton, GA; sisters April Collins and Sherrie Collins of Dickson; uncles Phillip Nix of Chatsworth, GA and Ken Nix, and Clifford (Angie) Choate of Livingston; aunts Sherrie (Kevin) Tinch of Cookeville, Cynthia (Jim) Clouse of Allons, Regina (Hack) Colson of Rickman, Betty (Ray) Speck of Rickman, and Janet (Monte) Grissom of Spencer; special friends Mike (Brooke) Rose, Marty (Chris) Bedsaul, Leigh Ann Davis, Liz (Lance) Bell, Janie Davis, and Christina Wentz; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Randy is preceded in death by his birth parents, special parent Larry Cox, and his grandparents.

The family has chosen cremation provided by Nashville Cremation Center. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made at any Region’s bank in the name of Randy’s 15 yr old son Austin Matthew Collins.
