Randal's obituary

In Loving Memory Randal James Farrington

Born June 1st 1960, resting with the Lord on July 13th, 2023.

Randy is survived by his wife Milica V Farrington, daughters, Ana Farrington, Cristina Millard and Heather Farrington, son in law Johnny Millard, grandson Clayton Millard, brother Robert Leo Farrington, sisters, Julie Shaffer, Linda Murray, Kimberly Rosati and Pamela Farrington. Randy is preceded by his father Robert Lee Farrington and mother Doris L Farrington

Randy was born on June 1st, 1960 to Robert and Doris Farrington in San Jose, CA. Randy was one of 6 children, who have all been there for Randy throughout his life; even more so after his diagnosis. He was a graduate of Branham High School and San Jose State University. Randy graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Business, and went on to have a successful 32 year career in management at Federal Express. It was during his time at West Valley College that he met the love of his life, Milica Vukcevich.

Randy and Milica started dating in 1982 and were married on October 17th, 1987, under the officiation of the Serbian Orthodox Church. Randy and Milica were fortunate to have three wonderful daughters, Ana, Cristina (Johnny Millard) and Heather. Cristina and Johnny blessed the family with their first Grandson, Clayton Millard in February 2021.

Randy cherished his family. He was a huge supporter during Ana’s basketball games, Cristina’s soccer matches and Heather’s field hockey games and cheer performances. Both Randy and Milica were regulars at all the games. Randy watched his girls go off to college and return with degrees of their own. Their successes were his successes and he beamed with pride and joy watching the girls receive diplomas at ASU and Cal Poly.

Randy was a regular at all the Serbian events over the past 40 years. Trips to Slava’s, Weddings, Baptism’s and the 4th of July in Jackson were part of his yearly routine. His children were baptized and raised in the Serbian Orthodox Church. They attended both St. Archangel Michael and St. Sava Mission churches in Saratoga and Jackson. Randy also converted to the Orthodox Faith during his adult life.

In December 2021 Randy was diagnosed with ALS disease. It was a shock to the entire family. Randy continued to live his life with dignity and passion. He traveled to Alaska, went on road trips with Milica to see the National Parks, and continued to attend 49er and Giants games with his family. Randy was an avid Bay Area sports fan and he introduced his children, nieces and nephews to the joys and frustrations of sporting events.

As the disease progressed over the past year, Randy had difficulty with mobility and was under the constant care and watch of Milica. Milica and his daughters did everything in their power to make Randy as comfortable as possible. Over the past year, the Farrington house was always full of visitors and well-wishers for Randy. He was surrounded and immersed in love by the Farrington and Vukcevich families, as well as neighborhood friends and work colleagues. The list goes on and on. It was evident that he had a positive impact on everyone he met.

Randy will be deeply missed by all those who loved him. We all take comfort that he’s no longer suffering from this horrible disease.
