Ramona's obituary
Ramona passed away on January 14, 2026, after a hard and courageous battle with stomach cancer. She left this world with her husband, Mario, by her side, holding her hand, just as she had held so many hands throughout her life with love, strength, and care.
Ramona and Mario met when they were just 19 years old at the University of the Philippines. From that moment on, they were inseparable, building a life together rooted in love and deep partnership. Through every season of life, Ramona was Mario’s guiding light and his rock - his constant source of strength, comfort, and grounding. Their years together were marked by devotion and shared dreams.
Known to many as generous, deeply caring, and endlessly welcoming. Ramona's love was something you could feel the moment you met her. She had a rare gift for gathering people together, creating space for connection, laughter, and meaningful time that was almost always centered around food.
She was profoundly devoted to her family and took immense pride in her children (Andrei, Nikolai, Alexandra, and Arianne) and grandchildren (Emery, Lillia, Yuuki, Matteo, Jericho, Riku, and Mona) whom she loved fiercely and unconditionally. She made it her mission to never miss a birthday, dance recital, or milestone. Her presence at these moments was constant, joyful, and full of pride.
To her husband and children, Ramona was a steady presence - equal parts fierce and a phenomenal cook. Her kitchen was the heart of the family, and her table was where memories were made, and bonds were strengthened. In this way, she was the bedrock of her family, creating a sense of togetherness that grounded and sustained them. Every meal was an expression of love, every gathering an act of generosity. These moments will be deeply missed and carried forward, as she will be missed every single day. To her grandchildren, she was simply Lola - an icon. Always well dressed, often in heels with a matching purse, she carried herself with elegance and confidence. To them, she will forever be remembered as nurturing, warm, and endlessly loving.
Ramona had a deep love for travel, especially when she could share those experiences with her grandchildren. Whether near or far, every trip was taken with intention and joy. She delighted in spoiling her family, always returning home with something special for each person - thoughtful gifts chosen because they reminded her of them. She loved sharing stories from her travels, recounting moments big and small with warmth and enthusiasm, bringing each place to life through her words.
She was deeply loyal and gave all of herself to everything she did, including her work and the people she worked alongside. She spent over 30 years at Toromont CAT, where she left a lasting impression through her compassion, dedication, and integrity. Her colleagues felt her care not just professionally, but personally as her warmth and motherly energy extended far beyond her family.
Ramona leaves behind a family who will carry her shining light forward every day, honoring her through love, togetherness, and the care she so freely gave to others.
