In Loving Memory of Ramona “Margo” Bustos Valdez
July 7, 1950 – July 3, 2025
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our cherished mother, wife, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Ramona “Margo” Bustos Valdez, who left this world on July 3, 2025—just 4 days shy of her 75th birthday.
Margo was born on July 7, 1950, in Lamesa, Texas, to Pepe and Guadalupe Bustos. From the very beginning, she brought warmth, joy, and a deep sense of love to all who knew her.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 47 years, Louis Valdez, her beloved sister Dora Bustos, her brothers Joe Bustos and Wally Bustos, and her six children: Fernando Sanchez Jr. (Lisa), Guadalupe Sanchez (Melanie), Randi Sanchez, Rawly Sanchez (Chris), Christina Miner (Jerry), and Louis Valdez. Margo also leaves behind a lasting legacy in her 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
Margo was a woman of great spirit—known for her radiant smile, boundless compassion, and the joy she found in life’s simple pleasures. She had a deep love for music, especially Tejano, and her home was often filled with its lively rhythms. Every fall, she could be found cheering on her beloved Dallas Cowboys—a Sunday tradition that brought her as much excitement as any game could offer.
Above all, Margo took immense pride in her children and their accomplishments. Her greatest joy came from being surrounded by her family—offering wisdom, encouragement, and unconditional love. As a grandmother and great-grandmother, she made each child feel uniquely seen and cherished.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers David Bustos and Joe Bustos, her sister Josie Bustos, and her beloved grandson Eli Sanchez.
Margo’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. Her legacy of love, strength, and generosity will continue to inspire generations to come.
