Ramona's obituary
Ramona Marie Foster
July 20, 1997-February 15, 2020
Ramona Marie Foster was born on July 20, 1997. She died on February 15, 2020 from complications of Cerebral Palsy.
In her short 22 years, Ramona lived a full life. She was happy despite her near constant physical pain. She had an easy humor and was fiercely loyal to her family. Her selfless nature was evident in her relationships with her brothers and sister.
It has been our greatest joy to be her family.
Ramona played outfield on a special needs baseball league for years. She was in several plays at Arizona State University. She hated dogs, but if there was a dog person in the room, she would pretend she liked them. She didn't like hurting peoples' feelings.
Ramona loved fart jokes more than anyone in civilized company should. If you wanted to entertain Ramona, all you needed to do was drop your keys or something breakable.
Ramona loved music. She enjoyed hymns and rock and had great taste in music. Her very favorite song was “Ramona” by Guster, for obvious reasons.
She loved taking long walks and going for long drives.
Even if Ramona was sick, you could persuade her to eat chocolate. She loved Reese’s peanut butter cups the most, but also was a fan of Kit Kat.
Ramona was a girly girl and liked to be pretty. She loved having her hair and nails done.
Ramona was mostly non-verbal but could say “hi” which meant both “yes” and “hello.” She could also say “buh-bye” which meant both “goodbye” and “I love you.” She adored talking on the phone and would light up if she thought that an incoming call was for her.
Ramona attended Wasatch High School and the transition college there. She volunteered as a door greeter at Lee’s grocery store and as gatekeeper at the Wasatch County Recreation Center. She also volunteered at a local retirement home where she enjoyed beating senior citizens at bingo. The prize was chocolate.
We will miss her laugh, her smile and her constant joy in adversity.
A memorial service and party will be held on Friday, Feb 21, 2020 at 10 am at 165 N Center Street in Midway, Utah
