Ramiro's obituary
Ramiro Montenegro, 62, of Atlanta, GA, passed away on November 12, 2023 after a long battle with Stage 4 colon cancer.
Ramiro was born on June 2nd, 1961 to Marcolino Montenegro and Mercedes Melo in Villeta, Colombia.
Ramiro was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. For those same reasons Ramiro moved to Miami, Florida in 2002 along with his wife and kids in search of the American dream. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. Ramiro was also a passionate painter and could often be found fishing, walking, swimming, playing basketball or tennis when he wasn’t at home. Some of his favorite foods were Sushi and Peruvian food. He was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer in August of 2014 and fought a lengthy battle of over 9 years with courage, grace and resiliency. Anyone who knew Ramiro knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for. He is survived by his wife, Cielo and children , Juan Sebastian, Kili, Jaime, Erika and Sandra. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, remembrances be made in the form of contributions. There will be a celebration of life on December 4, 2023 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Alpharetta, GA.

Ramiro nació el 2 de junio de 1961 de Marcolino Montenegro y Mercedes Melo en Villeta, Colombia.
Ramiro era una fuerza de la naturaleza, dedicado a su familia y a brindarles la vida que sentía que merecían. Por esas mismas razones Ramiro se mudó a Miami, Florida en el 2002 junto con su esposa e hijos en busca del sueño americano. Su familia significaba más que cualquier otra cosa en el mundo, algo que mencionaba a menudo. Ramiro también era un pintor apasionado y, cuando no estaba en casa, se le podía encontrar pescando, caminando, nadando, jugando baloncesto o tenis. Algunas de sus comidas favoritas eran el sushi y la comida peruana. Le diagnosticaron cáncer de colon en Etapa 4 en agosto de 2014 y libró una larga batalla de más de 9 años con coraje, gracia y resiliencia. Cualquiera que conociera a Ramiro sabía que él era el padre y esposo más amoroso que una familia podría pedir. Le sobreviven su esposa, Cielo e hijos, Juan Sebastian, Kili, Jaime, Erika y Sandra. La familia solicita que en lugar de flores, los recuerdos se hagan en forma de contribuciones. Habrá una celebración de vida el 4 de diciembre de 2023 en la Iglesia Católica St. Thomas Aquinas en Alpharetta, GA.
