Ramiro's obituary

Ramiro Montenegro, 62, of Atlanta, GA, passed away on November 12, 2023 after a long battle with Stage 4 colon cancer.

Ramiro was born on June 2nd, 1961 to Marcolino Montenegro and Mercedes Melo in Villeta, Colombia.

Ramiro was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. For those same reasons Ramiro moved to Miami, Florida in 2002 along with his wife and kids in search of the American dream. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. Ramiro was also a passionate painter and could often be found fishing, walking, swimming, playing basketball or tennis when he wasn’t at home. Some of his favorite foods were Sushi and Peruvian food. He was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer in August of 2014 and fought a lengthy battle of over 9 years with courage, grace and resiliency.  Anyone who knew Ramiro knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for. He is survived by his wife, Cielo and children , Juan Sebastian, Kili, Jaime, Erika and Sandra. The family requests that  in lieu of flowers, remembrances be made in the form of contributions. There will be a celebration of life on December 4, 2023 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Alpharetta, GA.
