Ralph's obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ralph Phillip Flynn, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, who left us on Monday, April 7th, 2025, at his home in Charlestown, Indiana. Born on Friday, December 22nd, 1961, in Garden City, Michigan, Ralph graced this world with humor, commitment, and a love for life that touched everyone around him during his 63 years.

Ralph was an esteemed and dedicated worker, currently serving as a clerk at the United States Census. His professional journey saw him through roles as a salesman at several notable places including EJ Thomas & Company in Columbus, Ohio; Baer Fabrics in Louisville, where he met his cherished wife, Carol; and Dodge World in Louisville. Through his career, Ralph formed significant relationships and left a lasting impact on those who had the privilege to work alongside him.

A proud alumnus with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management, Ralph never ceased to appreciate the value of education and hard work. An enthusiastic supporter of the University of Louisville sports teams, he could often be found cheering on the Cardinals with unyielding spirit. In his leisure time, Ralph enjoyed flying his drone, exploring the care and precision of the task, and was an avid fan of rock & roll and science fiction/fantasy novels. (red edits and replacements made for a previously crossed-out section)

He took immense pleasure in cooking, skillfully crafting meals for family and friends who were always appreciative of his delectable creations. His love for life’s simple joys enriched the lives of many.

Ralph leaves behind his beloved wife, Carol Flynn, his mother, Angel “Angie” Mitchell; his sisters Laura Brindley (Richard), Tina Lane (Charlie), Kimberly Agius, Kelly Howie (red underline), and his adored daughters, Margaret “Maggie” Flynn and Deirdre “Dee Dee” Flynn. He is deeply mourned by his family and community, cherished in loving memory.

Ralph was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Flynn, his first wife, Sherri Flynn, and his brother, Dennis Flynn, with whom he now rests in peace.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 12th, 2025, at 11:00 am at Garr Funeral Home (7806 Highway 311, Sellersburg, Indiana 47172). Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation, on Friday, April 11th, 2025, from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Family visitation begins at 9 a.m. on both days.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to personal counseling services or the Kentucky Humane Society in Ralph's memory. Your support is greatly appreciated.
