Ralph was one of the best traders I had ever met, only comparable to one. He was a great mathematician and his work ethic was legendary, but he also just knew when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em. He sat next to me and was my partner in the most volatile of times. Once in the throes of the 2008 crash he gave me that look that said hold them, the market is going down. We did and he was right as usual. It may not sound like much of a story, but I will never forget that look. He was strong and honest. You could always depend on him. I will miss him.
