Rajeswary's obituary
She was born on the 18th of May 1930 in Klang, Selangor, a daughter to the late Mr & Mrs Arunasalam.
Known for her amazing tailoring skills by the residents of Taman Melawis and it’s surrounding suburbs, Rajes spent her early days making saree blouses, sarees and suits for many occasions.
To her family, she was the embodiment of love. From weekend lunches (where she would make us, her granddaughters) sit in a circle and feed us ‘kullaiyal’, telling our Appapa (the late Kanapathipillay) off for having the television up too loud or being completely adamant that we not sit on the marble floor without a mat because ‘we will catch a cold’ - it was all done out of pure love.
In 2006, Rajes was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimers. Over the next 12 years, her condition slowly deteriorated. However, despite it all - she managed to almost always have a smile on her face; which indirectly made everyone around her smile too. Her cheekiness and mischief was something we always looked forward to.
She lived a long, fulfilling life and we celebrate her 90 years on this planet with fondness, love, and reverence. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
