Raimar Jamel Akerson was born on August 7, 1988, at Booth Memorial Hospital in Queens, New York, to proud parents Charles and Samantha Akerson. Sadly his mother preceded him in death in November of 2022.

Raimar or “Rai,” as he was affectionately called by those who loved him, obtained his formal education between private schools and the New York City Public Schools System. He graduated from Bayside High School in 2006.

Raimar played basketball and football for his high school team, achieving accolades for his athletic abilities. Raimar worked various customer service and administrative positions that cater towards consumer wellness and functionalities of the businesses he dedicated his time to. Raimar had a strong love for music and his creative mindset was endless. His art enabled him to express himself freely. He was a natural at making others comfortable and loved through his humor. On Sunday, April 14, 2024, Raimar Akerson passed away at the age of 35.

Raimar is survived by his wife, Krystal Moore-Akerson; two sons, Anthony and Ethan; whom he adored and loved spending his free time through sports with them. Father, Charles; Brothers, Michael and Khaleik; Sister, Shamika; Grandfather, Joseph; Grandmother, Deborah; Uncle Dereke; Aunts, Jasan and Jenna; His in-laws, Beth and Gary; Sister in-laws, Erika and Dominique; Family, friends, loved ones and his dog Willow.
