Rafaela's obituary

Rafaela Camacho, age 63, passed away on December 13, 2025, surrounded by love. She was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose vibrant spirit touched everyone she met.

Rafaela was born on February 6, 1962, in Iguala, Mexico, to Josefina Castrejon and Caciano Camacho. She grew up there before bravely beginning a new chapter in her life when she came to the United States in 1981. She lived in Los Angeles for 16 years before making her home in Georgia in 1996, where she continued to build a life centered on faith, family, and love.

A free spirit with a bold and courageous heart, Rafaela was outgoing, loving, strong, thoughtful, charismatic, creative, lively, determined, and brave. Her energy was contagious, and her presence brought warmth and joy to any room.

Rafaela was a devoted Catholic and dedicated much of her time to her church, where her faith guided her daily life. She found joy in running, crafting, singing, dancing, cooking, and sewing. Cooking was one of her greatest expressions of love, and her family will forever cherish her specialties, including pozole, picaditas, and pierna al horno.

She was a loving wife to her husband, Martin, and a devoted mother to her five children: Yuridia Antunez, Jose Antunez, Carla Vasquez, Ernesto Ramirez Jr., and Jaime Ramirez. She was a proud grandmother to ten grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She cherished every moment spent with them, as well as time spent shopping, cooking for her family, and gathering loved ones together.

Rafaela’s legacy is one of strength, faith, love, and resilience. Though she is no longer with us, her laughter, teachings, and unconditional love will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

May she rest in eternal peace.
