Rafael's obituary

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our father, Rafael Perez. On March 16th, 2024, at 10:53 AM, the pearly gates of heaven welcomed him with open arms, leaving his wife, kids, grandkids, siblings, and friends a guardian angel. His legacy was one you heard through stories, saw through pictures and videos, and felt in his presence alone. A man who always made sure he lived his life to the fullest with no regrets. A man who could light up any room and stand out in a crowd. His laughter was contagious, his music choice was profound, and don’t get me started on his dance moves. Although God called him early, this man was full of life; he lived a life many wished to be blessed with in their time.

Our dad gave us the family gift and showed us the importance of respect, love, acceptance, strength, and, most importantly, resilience. These various traits are carried amongst us as his legacy will forever be embedded in our souls and those to come. Our father always spoke life into us and consistently taught us the importance of education. You can see this legacy standing beside him in what you know as his children—a father who loved his grandkids ten times more than life itself. Our children are honored to have been loved by our dad. He took great pride in his family and uplifted us in speech even when we were not hearing it. He spoke so highly of us and our children that everyone knew us. Our dad was honored to be a father to his ten kids, a grandfather to his twenty-two grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. To the most extraordinary man, we thank you for raising ten children that can be seen as a piece of you that will be carried forever.

Our father was blessed to share his life with his beloved wife, Milagros, who adored his soul. A love that ran deep from the eighties til eternity. A love that was joined together in holy matrimony not once but twice. Their daughter Ashley Perez performed a civil ceremony amongst family and friends in the comfort of their home. A ceremony is held by the church in the comfort of their home to seal in their love for God before being called home to live the most fruitful afterlife.

Rafael was blessed to come into this world with his twin brother, Robert Perez. The two share an unmatched spiritual and emotional bond. Our hearts go out to our uncle, who also lost a piece of himself that day. A bond between twins is one nobody except a twin could understand, imagine, or compare. It is comforting to know that a piece of our father will always live through the eyes and heart of our uncle. Our father left behind his twin brother, older sister Ana, and younger sister Linda, who loved him wholeheartedly. He created their wrinkles from the smiles that became laughter in his presence and is now a shining star protecting them.

When you think of our father, we want you to think of his smile, laughter, respect, generosity, kind heart, welcoming spirit, and, most importantly, love. Everything he did in life, he did with love, and those who crossed his path were fortunate to experience an extraordinary soul. A soul that, even after his passing, continues to impact those blessed to know it. A soul with the whole world in shambles but thankful for his peace simultaneously. He instilled a piece of him in us all, and we are forever grateful to call him our father.

Dad, you are truly missed, but we know you’re dancing in heaven! We know you have been reunited with your beloved mother, family, friends, and favorite celebrities living the dream. We all wish you eternal peace and ask that you help bring brighter days in our lives as we take on this healing journey of losing our hero.

Love,

Millie, Charlene, Darlene, Tirso, Miguel, Lorrene, Jacqueline, Jasmine, Rafael JR,

Ashley, Lisa, your Grandchildren, and Great Grandchild.
