Background
Our mom is someone you aspire to be. Strong, funny, charismatic, beautiful, and kind. She truly is one of the most strongest people we know. We’ve learned how to be resilient because of her.
Our mom had heart surgery on January 29, 2025 and ran into a rare complication; 8 years ago the last time her doctors encountered this. This ultimately changed the course of her life for the next two months. It was the hardest battle our mom had to face. From being on ECMO to RVAD to ventilator to being sedated for almost 3 weeks, she eventually started to show progress; smiling and responding. We had all the hope in the world that was she going to recover and come back home. Unfortunately, she ran into more complications and on March 26, after being in the ICU for 60 days, she passed away peacefully with her children, nieces, and nephew by her side. It has been a difficult two months for our family to endure. It has been a difficult two months for our mom to endure. We wish we could have saved our mom.
Honoring our mom’s life is the one thing we can do for her. We would like her final resting place to be near my cousin, her nephew, who sadly passed away on October 11, 2013 at the young age of 25. This fundraiser would help pay for her memorial services and final resting place.
