Porfirio Rivera Rivera, 79, also known to his family and friends as Robin has passed away suddenly on Thursday, Sept 3, 2020 at his home.

He leaves his wife of 51 years, Maria Luisa Rivera Rivera; his son Robin Rivera, his daughters Dalila Solis and Maria Luisa Mendez; thirteen grandchildren; his siblings Francisca, Milagros, José, Enrique, Júnior, María, Emilia and Virginia.

He is preceded in death by his daughter Lilian Rivera; his parents Julio Rivera Ocacio and Carmen Rivera Soto; and his sibling Madeline Rivera Rivera.

Porfirio was born on November 22, 1941 in Ponce, Puerto Rico. In the mid to late 60’s he relocated several times between Waukegan, IL, Jamaica Plain, MA and Lynn, MA.

Porfirio enjoyed being involved in community organizations and sport activities.

His family and friends will always remember him as a loving father, devoted husband and an avid writer.

He will be cremated. No viewing services will be held due to COVID-19. His ashes will be kept by his son and daughters. Any donations can be made directly to his daughter Dalila Solis (in charge of funeral arrangements) via Venmo @Dalila-Solis-1 or PayPal dndsolis6@gmail.com
