TRIBUTE TO LATE ELDER PIUS IGE OLAREWAJU
Grand Patron, Celestial Church of Christ, Omo Alade Alafia Parishes
Daddy,
Writing these words still feels unreal. You were not just an Elder or a Grand Patron to us; you were a father in every sense of the word—a shelter, a voice of wisdom, and a steady pillar in the household of faith.
As a daughter in the Lord, I remember your warm hospitality with deep gratitude. Your doors were always open, your table always ready, and your heart always wide enough to receive all who came—young and old, rich and poor. In your presence, no one felt like a stranger. You had a rare grace of making people feel seen, valued, and at home.
Daddy, your love for the needy spoke louder than words. You gave quietly, consistently, and compassionately. Many lives were lifted through your kindness—school fees paid, needs met, burdens eased—often without seeking recognition. Truly, you lived the Scriptures: “He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord” (Proverbs 19:17). Heaven surely records what many of us may never fully know.
Your leadership was marked by humility, firmness, and godly counsel. As Grand Patron of Celestial Church of Christ, Omo Alade Alafia Parishes, you led not by force, but by example. You stood for peace, unity, and righteousness. You encouraged the weak, corrected in love, and strengthened the work of God with your resources, prayers, and presence. You were dependable—when Daddy said, “I will do it,” it was as good as done.
Personally, I will always cherish your fatherly advice, your prayer life, your heart of giving, your sacrifice towards Imeko Basilica and the way you believed in us, the younger generation. You taught us that Christianity is not only what we say in church, but what we live out daily—through love, service, and integrity.
Daddy, your race was well run. You fought the good fight. You kept the faith. Though we mourn, we do not mourn without hope, for we are confident that you have gone to rest in the bosom of the Lord you served faithfully.
Thank you for a life well spent. Thank you for loving us. Thank you for leading us.
Sleep on, Baba wa.
Sleep on, faithful servant.
Your memories remain a blessing, and your legacy lives on in our hearts.
