Phyllis's obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Phyllis Quillen, a loving and dedicated matriarch of her family, who left us peacefully on April 21, 2024. Born on August 14, 1938, Phyllis graced the world with her charismatic and vibrant persona for 85 beautiful years.
Phyllis was a beacon of generosity, religious faith, and unyielding kindness. Her warm and bubbly personality was not only infectious but also served as a comfort that drew people towards her. She believed firmly in the principle of treating others how she would like to be treated, a lesson she passed on to her family and anyone fortunate enough to have known her.
A deeply devoted Christian, Phyllis was a stalwart pillar of the Faith Baptist Church in Wilmington, Delaware, for more than three decades. Her unwavering faith and zealous participation at the church were a testament to her strong relationship with God. Phyllis was also a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, where she excelled in each of those roles with loving dedication.
Phyllis's grandchildren, osben Toulson, Shawn Kitchen, Adam Kitchen Amber Grant survives her. They, like the rest of the family, holds onto the cherished memories and invaluable teachings left behind by Phyllis. One could always hear her say, "Family first" and "Work hard." These words, now etched into their hearts, will continue to guide them.
Phyllis's legacy is one of leading by example and entrusting her life to the Lord. Although she is gone, her spirit lives on in the memories she created and in the family she lovingly raised. We will forever remember her sweet kindness, unabated generosity, and the godly love she mirrored.
