Born in 1961 to Daniel & Nancy Kapornyai in Johnson City, TN, she grew up in Danville, VA where she graduated from George Washington High School. She then moved to NC where she attended Wake Tech in Raleigh, NC studying Business Administration.
After working in numerous professional careers, she finally found her calling in Real Estate in 2001. Starting her own Real Estate business (Phyllis Brown & Associates, Inc.) in 2009, Phyllis found great joy in going above & beyond to meet her client’s needs, many of whom have remained her dear personal friends to this day.
Phyllis was an active member of Hope Chapel church in Apex, NC and loved teaching others about the hope in Jesus Christ.
She was the loving wife of husband Keith Brown of Durham, NC, her mother Nancy Kapornyai of Danville, VA, three brothers: Dan Kapornyai and his wife Wrenne of Franklinton, NC, Alan Kapornyai and his wife Mary of Palm Bay, FL, and Tim Kapornyai and his wife Jodi of Dry Fork, VA. She will be remembered by several nieces & nephews who brought her much joy and happiness: Chris Kapornyai and his wife Felicity along with daughter Lilah in NC, Kevin Tufel and wife Jessie along with son Dominic in KY, Amanda Tufel in FL and Skylar Hamlett, Coy Hamlett, Lilly Kapornyai, & Matthew Kapornyai in VA. Adam Erdesky and his wife Marya along with sons Charles and James in CO.
She was preceded in death by her father Daniel Feltner-Kapornyai and step-mother Raye Feltner-Kapornyai and her sister Amy Drdek.
Although she was very much loved and will be greatly missed, she belongs to GOD our father in Heaven.
