Phronsie's obituary
Born in Irvington, Phronsie moved to Westfield in 1972 and had been a longtime resident of both Westfield and Scotch Plains.
Phronsie worked in customer service for Petro in Westfield before retiring in 2005. She also worked as a telephone operator for Matrix in Westfield and NJ Bell Telephone in Newark. She was dependable and would help anyone in need. She loved to travel and took trips whenever she could. She was a talented piano player and often played during family holidays. She enjoyed bowling and had played on various leagues. Phronsie also loved word games and trivia. She enjoyed watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune as well as doing crossword puzzles and playing Scrabble.
Phronsie also loved being surrounded by family and friends.
Phronsie was the beloved wife of the late William Rhein (1999), devoted mother of Gregory Rhein and wife Gena , Gayle Elliot, and Christine Korteling and husband Bert. She was also a cherished grandmother to Sandy and husband Joe, Charles Jr. and wife Samantha, Madison, Rebecca, JonCarlo, Nicholas, and Jake. Phronsie was also a proud great-grandmother to Logan. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
Services will be held privately on May 8, 2020 at Memorial Funeral Home in Fanwood, followed by a burial at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield.
