Phillis B. Wexler, born on November 20, 1942, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2025, in Rochester Hills, Michigan, at the age of 82.
A longtime resident of Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin, Phillis lived there for 57 years before relocating to Rochester Hills. She dedicated 22 years of service to the Whitefish Bay School System, leaving a lasting impact on the community.
Phillis was the daughter of the late Milton and Ida Polland. She was a devoted mother to her son Bob (Patty) Wexler and daughter Julie (Eric) Pingel. Her grandchildren Noah, Lainie, Jack, Tara(Justin), Caden, and Rylan—were the light of her life. She also cherished the companionship of her beloved cat, Simba.
Known for her strength and independence, Phillis courageously battled cancer for three years with an unwavering will to live. She found joy in spending time with her many wonderful friends and had a passion for reading and staying informed on current events. She loved playing mah jongg and had an impeccable sense of style, always taking pride in her appearance. An expert shopper, she delighted in finding just the right things for herself and those she loved.
Phillis will be deeply missed but forever remembered by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Leader Dogs for the Blind, Rochester, MI in honor of Phillis’s longtime involvement in the Lioness Club and her compassion for animals.
