I got this job in May of 97 as an Environmental Clerk for an Aleut Corp. A Subsidiary of Space Mark. It was my first job that paid real money that could last more that 6 weeks. I had to get a tooth pulled because you couldn’t have a dental issue while in such a remote location. I had to leave behind my friends, family and my future wife and be gone for an indeterminate period of time. The plane ride in was a shit show, which I learned was standard, I arrived to an active Navy base that civilians had never been allowed to. There were military personnel with automatic weapons and drug dogs in our face when we deplaned. There were strangers barking all the ways you could get kicked off the island, fired, arrested and shot. I got to my housing and who was there to greet me? My cousin and childhood friend Ada. I was so relieved. Here was a man I could trust with my life and he was with me, letting me know that this was not a big deal. I swear I could have cried tears of joy and relief if that was something I was capable of at the time. It was an absolutely pivotal time in my life. Had he not been there, I can’t say I would have stayed. Since he was, I was able to learn the trade that has made my career, the woman I would marry was able to come and get a job, and my brother and father came out to work and I can honestly say that was the beginning of the greatest life I could have ever dreamed for my self. I’m not exaggerating when I say the he was an angel sent from God to let me know it was going to be alright. I can’t tell you the amount of time we spent together as kids. He looked up to me for some reason and my Dad loved him as much as he loved any of his own children. I’ll never forget him and I look forward to the day when he, uncle Ada, my dad Pete, and me are together again in Paradise. My deepest condolences Miranda.

Love,

Lenny

❤Approximately 4 years ago on a nice beautiful sunshiny day at the end of Summer, I was trying not to feel as "hungover" as I looked. I heard a vehicle pull up in the driveway and then a knock on the door. To my absolute surprise was my Yaya Phil standing on my porch! My jaw dropped, I threw open the door and gave him the biggest hug ever. He told us he was traveling for work and they had to stop here to fuel up and had an hour or two layover. So he called my dad and they drove around surprising family with a quick hello. This is one of my favorite memories of him! ❤
Please accept my condolences to Phillip's family, loved ones, and friends. Unfortunately, I have a prior commitment and will not be able to attend the service. My thoughts and prayers are and will be with you through these difficult times. Love and Hugs! Rose Brady.
