The class wanted to send condolences by way of Malakai. Blessings LHS 1983 #loboforlife
  • I'm very sorry about Phil's passing. I became friends with him in high school where we took several courses together. We regularly played tennis. I re-connected with him via FB and we stayed in touch.  I appreciated his intelligence and love of music. Will miss him.
I don't know where to begin.  I met and hired Phil in June 2011 at GM Financial.  We met and interacted with each other daily before COVID .  He was so integral in big projects at GM Financial, too many to list.  With all of the work that was placed upon our team and his especially, he never never complained, not once.  He worked through it got it done.  On the non-work side, he introduced me to Greenberg Turkey, which my wife will only eat now at Thanksgiving...thanks Phil....and the TV show Breaking Bad....after many tries.  We also shared a love of brewing beer...he was far better at it than I was...I still have the bottles from the last six pack he gave me....that I will forever want to return those bottles to get filled up again!  To Phil: I love you, I'll miss you..you'll always be on my mind...and have a good brew ready for me when we meet again.

What can I say......

It's been years. Life happens,  things change, break ups happen and distance grows, but you were my brother for a period....you were the uncle to my baby, and the love of Rae's life. I remember her excitement when she met you and the joy in her voice. I remember your love for her and Keenan,  and meeting Ethan and also when little Danielle was born. I could see she was the apple of your eye, your baby girl.

You were funny as hell and the first to laugh at jokes,  or yelling at the TV watching football and teaching little Dani to run around rooting for the team lol! You were kind, considerate and patient.  A wonderful example of a great dad, husband and man. I always knew you were a great person with amazing taste in music

The last time I saw Rae we were getting ready to move and she offered to help and said that ya'll "show up" and to just ask......I really regret never making that call.

Again,  it's been years, but you will be terribly missed.

Rae, Danielle,  Keenan & Ethan- please know that even though time has passed, I've always loved each and every one of you and my heart is broken for you.

If you need ANYTHING, please don't hesitate to call, text, message me. Our door is always open.

I'm so deeply sorry for this unfathomable loss.

Love and hugs

Phil was a quiet man , tall in stature, meticulous in thought that strived for perfection in all things big and small. He helped others when he could and did his best to get along with the world.

Every soul in this world is special and deserves the best that life has to offer. We never know why things happen the way they do or why those close to us go on to the next level of existence when we least expect it. Phil was loved and will never leave us as he will go on living in the hearts and minds of those who knew him best. The world will be a lesser place without him, but we will fill the void with fond memories of how he touched each of our lives. I love you Phil.  You will not be forgotten.

I knew Phillip mainly in the middle school years, he was one of the "smart kids" that was always on the honor roll. His observational sense of humor was cagey. Phillip & I played on different teams in city league baseball, I admired that he played catcher (tough & punishing position at that age) and was a good hitter. Phillip seemed to draw intelligent people to him and had a good aura. Sincere sympathies to Phillip's loved ones.

I was so sorry, RaeAnna, to learn of your loss from Nichole. I totally understand the emotions you are experiencing now. But, as when Andy died, I was able to take solace and comfort - and find joy - in the birth of my grandchild. Love you.

My favorite times with Phil were just doing the simple things such as cooking out, watching football/baseball games and drinking beers together. Phil had the BEST Nolan Ryan voice. We would all sit around and Phil & my husband would say funny quotes/phrases doing their best Nolan Ryan voice and everyone would laugh so hard tears would roll down our cheeks.  We love and miss you Phil. Your wings were ready but our hearts were not.

I am very sad about Phil's passing.  Phil was one of the nicest people I have ever met.  He approached everything and everyone with a positive attitude.  He will certainly be missed.

I am deeply saddened with the news of Phil’s passing away. Phil was a wonderful person who was always ready to help. In my conversations with him, Phil came across as kind and caring. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

I hope my words will bring some comfort to you knowing that Phil touched many lives, and I am grateful to have known his as a colleague.
