Phillip F. Campbell

Phillip Francis George Campbell, 81, of Venice, Florida, and Chicago Ridge, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Jan. 13, 2018, after a recent cancer diagnosis.
A long-time Venice snowbird, he was born in Chicago and served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1958. He spent most of his career as a foreman at the Illinois State Tollway, retiring in 1999.
He is survived by his partner Ellie Cameron, his sisters Mary DeFilippis and Isobel Tyler, his daughters Kim Taylor and Kelly Heisler, his sons Michael, Patrick and Mark Campbell and 13 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother Russell, his son John and his parents James and Martha (McDermott) Campbell.
He was an avid golfer, loved to travel and considered Florida “paradise.” He was proud of his Scottish heritage and a member of the Clan Campbell, his parents emigrated from Scotland in the 1920s.
