I filed suit against Phoenix resturant and Phil followed up and the court made them retrain employees on discrimination in 1979.

Lorena, I only briefly met your father at your campaign party. I loved hearing his speech about you. It was clear that he was so proud of you. It felt like a truly special moment. I know how fleeting those moments can be, having lost my own father three years ago. But they are the ones that stick with us and keep us going. I hope that you have had many happy memories that help support you, too. I send all my love to you and your family. --Rei

Today we express our appreciation for all the very good actions of Phil to benefit his community and others. It was a well-lived life of accomplishment and achievement. Our heartfelt condolences are with his family. We will miss Phil.
"May Phillip A. Austin's legacy continue to bless our communities for years to come"
My condolences.  I admire that Phil reached out to organize East Valley Latino attorneys who couldn't make it to Los Abogados meetings in Phoenix, AZ.  His legacy will live on.

I will miss you greatly Phil.  My condolences to the family.  May God give you strength during this difficult time.

Richard Castillo

My condolences to his wife Christy and his entire family.  May he rest in peace.
We have lost an altruist, a humanitarian, and a friend, but we continue to reap the rewards of a life well-lived. If we all aspire to be like Phil, we may fill one shoe together. I am saddened by our loss and inspired by his life.
He supported  and funded the Mariachi bands and Mexican culture. He left a inspirational impression on me.
Phil's passing saddens me. What impacted me the most about Phil was his fire and commitment to impacting eighth graders through the STEAM program.

I’ll always remember Phil was a kind and generous man. Phil exemplified the characteristics expounded in the Bible, Micah 6:8, “…… what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.” Phil and I worked together on supporting community development projects in the Dominican Republic through Food for the Hungry and delivering Christmas gifts to migrant families in Mesa.

The Quihuiz and Espinoza family send their heartfelt condolences to the Austin family.  My parents were his God parents ( Jesus and Margarita ) and loved him very much.  I considered Philip a good and trusted friend who will be missed very much. I'm honored to have had him in my life for many years.

Sincerely Eleanor Quihuiz Espinoza

Words cannot describe the grief and pain I feel losing my big brother. We shared great times, singing together at his parties, getting down to business advocating & representing our community by establishing many platforms.   I learned so much from Phil and always a mentor to me and many others. His jokes were always an ice breaker and an opening to any meeting he hosted, always a given.  Phil provided great insight & feedback even when there were disagreements but always well received as he came from a place of genuine love, care, concern, and support. I’m missing you brother and we will take it from here.

Con amor, su Carnalita! Adelante siempre adelante
