Personal note from Collins Family, Corey

Philipp was born in Germany and then moved to Belgium where he became the head of a import export company. When the Nazi's invaded Belgium, Philipp was arrested and deported to Auschwitz where he then was chief chemist making medicines and pesticides also they forced him into making soap for human remains. After some Jews and Philipp were freed, he served as the first chairman of the State Federation of North Rhine and Westphalia. In 1946, he was giving the oppourtuninty to be the state commissioner of the Bavarian provincial government for religious, political, and racial victims of Nazis becoming a big role in German politics after the war. In 1951, he became a member of the Central Council of Jews in Germany where he was accused of forgery in regard to reparations payments. He was found guilty on August 14, 1952 and sentenced to two and a half years in prison. Philipp then committed suicided on August 16, 1952. He lives leaves to cherish his memories with his wife, Martha; daughter, Helen Auerbach
