Philip Neal Smith, 64, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2026, in Orlando, Florida.

He was born on May 6, 1961, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Melvin and Maxine Smith, and was raised in Boise, where he graduated from Borah High School.

Philip lived a life rooted in hard work, humor, and connection. He began his career at a potato factory in Twin Falls before moving to Boise, where he worked at Alexander Clark. During those years, he also delivered for Domino’s Pizza, forming lasting friendships along the way. After retiring from Alexander Clark in 2022, Philip found a new rhythm in life as a driver for Uber and Lyft . . . something he truly enjoyed. He took pride in getting people where they needed to go safely, often leaving them smiling thanks to his easy conversation and corny jokes.

In his later years, Philip made the move to Florida to be closer to his daughter and grandchildren, a chapter of life he deeply valued.

Philip found joy in the simple things. He was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, enjoyed trying his luck with the occasional lottery ticket, and never missed an opportunity to share a joke. Above all, he loved spending time with his family. His faith, rooted in his Lutheran upbringing and lifelong belief as a Christian, brought him comfort and strength throughout his life.

He is survived by his daughter, Christine Smith (and her two daughters); his brothers Jeff Smith, Greg Smith, Rick Lattin, and Larry Lattin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Maxine Smith, and his brothers Gayle Lattin and Douglas Smith.

Philip will be remembered for his lighthearted spirit, kind heart, and the way he could make anyone laugh. He had a gift for conversation and a way of making even ordinary moments feel a little brighter. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held on March 31, 2026, from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM EST at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 4962 S. Apopka Vineland Rd. Zoom link available.
