Philip's obituary

Phil Luethy, 83, passed away peacefully in his home October 5, 2023. It is believed that the thought of shivering through another winter made his heart give out.

He left behind a hell of a lot of stuff to his daughters who have no idea what to do with it.

So, if you are looking for scrap steel, wood or ceiling tiles, or any misc. parts from anything going back 50 years or so, or even a large set of wooden dice too big to hold. You should wait the appropriate amount of time and get in touch. Tomorrow would be fine.

This is not an ad for a pawn shop, but an obituary for an amazing Man, Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather born on August 9, 1940 in Oneida Wisconsin, the son of the late Pop (Paul E.) and Nana (Lillian B.) Luethy. He leaves behind a semi dysfunctional family that he was very proud of.

Phil was world-renowned for his ability to fix anything and his quiet nature. (Unless he was ranting about the lawyer commercials, Medicare or politics) Recent times had him coin the phrase “Kwit your bitchen Phil” which now resides on the arms of his daughters and granddaughter.

Phil spent a good majority of his time for the last 41 years with Alpine Rescue. Both in field and off he could be found in the background helping in whatever way he could, including converting the vehicles to be rescue vehicles or sitting around complaining about some of his work being antiquated. (Technology was the bane of his existence.)

He will be sorely missed and survived by his sister Luane Austad, daughters: Dee/Paul Clingenpeel, Deb/Darin Rohlf, 9 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. Not to mention his untamed bunnies that lived under his porch who are missing their biskits.

He was preceded in death by his brother Darrell, Sisters Delores, and Muriel, and his son Dana.
