I just watched your video/tribute to Petr again and I can tell how wonderful father he was to both of you❤️

Dear Cynthia, Lukas, Julia, and the rest of the family - I wish to extend my deepest condolences to you and to everyone else in the Metlicka family.  I was Lukas' guitar teacher a good many years ago, and I remember what a devoted dad he was.  His untimely loss is most tragic.  But his good influences and works will live on with his children and those he helped throughout his life.  With sincere gratitude to have met him, I send my wishes for your eventual healing.  Kind regards,  Bryan.

Milla & Lukas,

Petr took care of Uma and I for so long while my mom figured things out for herself after my parents got divorced. We were always welcome at your house from even before you moved to sunny side. I feel very lucky to have spent so many afternoons with your family. The things I remember are kind of silly: like when we would sit in the back row of the car with the backwards seats, or drinking tea with lots of sugar in glass cups, or pizza nights. And along with these things are Petr's amazing pictures that capture Milla and I growing up together. I think the main thing that stands out among my memories of growing up at your house was how much your dad did for all of us; he was always picking us up from school to walk us home, taking us sledding, driving us around, feeding us, and how clear it was that he was doing these things out of immense amount of love for you both.

I also remember Milla and I hiding in her room while our moms talked so I wouldn't have to leave. I always felt very happy at your house. Zafi put it very nicely when they said that he created amazing worlds for us after school. It's so true! Your house was like a dream for kids with the trampoline and the food and everything (and that crazy sticker machine with the bunnies? And all the pets)

The last time I saw your dad must have been at a thanksgiving or maybe in passing, but I got a lot of joy from his photography in between those times. When he would post pictures of us growing up, or when he dropped off his Christmas card this past Christmas. Your dad was probably one of the first artists I ever knew, which is cool.

Anyway, I'm thinking of your family. It's a devastating loss. I hope his memory is comforting and you're able to see how many lives Petr touched, among your friends as we were all growing up at your house. I can confidently say my childhood was better because of your dad.

It's pretty striking to see all of these pictures of your dad, who I feel like was behind the camera for so much of my life. His joy and creativity shines through.

Love you both,

Maya

My condolences to Petr's family. I first met Petr when I moved into their 3 story home in JP. I just moved in and shortly after I got arrested and at the time I had my golden retriever with me. I needed someone to pick up my dog and both Petr and Cindy came to my rescue they were more like family than landlords. I am just heartbroken.

Petr was so welcoming over a decade ago when I was dancing with BalletRox. There were times where my bus would be delayed and he would always be there to pick me up, regardless of the time of night. Sending my deepest condolences to the Metlicka family, I will always be thankful to have known him. May your good memories with him live on forever ❤️
