Peter's obituary

Peter Salvatore Raimondi passed away peacefully on January 11, 2024 at the age of 96. He was preceded in death by his son, Chris; his parents, Salvatore and Angelina; sisters, Lenita and Marie; and ex-wife, Joan. He is survived by his daughter, Jen Mitri, son-in-law, Don, beloved grandson Gabe; and many nieces and nephews. Pete had a natural knack for sales and sold everything from Cadillacs to security systems to owning his own shop in Baltimore where he sold sports memorabilia until he was 93 years old. He made friends wherever he went and had a wicked sense of humor and liked nothing more than telling stories and jokes. He embraced his Italian heritage and food, and lived to his ripe old age by having a donut and coffee everyday. He was a Polio survivor, contracting the disease at 8 years of age. Despite having difficulties walking,  he lived his life to the fullest and became an advocate for the disabled and elderly. He relentlessly went to restaurants and stores in the Baltimore area and insisted that they provide chairs with arms and motorized carts to help out people with mobility issues. He noticed when things were not correctly set up for people with disabilities and he would fight to make it right. He spent the last few years in Cleveland where he was closer to his family and enjoyed getting to know many people at Menorah Park who were kind and caring to him- especially, Holly, Lilli, Mike, Jerry, and the Pearl's Place gang and Noah. He was about to make the change from wearing his Ravens hat to buying a Browns hat, but it did not come to fruition. A celebration of life will be held at The Mayfield Heights Community Center 6080 Marsol Road, Mayfield Heights, Ohio 44124 on Saturday January 20th between 1:00-4:00. There will be a celebration this summer in his hometown of Baltimore as well. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
