Peter passed away peacefully on Friday April 25, 2025 at the Ottawa Civic Hospital, at the age of 78. Born in Birmingham, England, to Hilda (Smith) and John Jones, Peter was proud of his Welsh heritage and was one of ten siblings, growing up alongside five brothers and four sisters.

After completing his college education at the age of 21, Peter pursued a successful career in Engineering. In 1967, he married the love of his life, Valerie, also from Birmingham. Together, they built a life filled with love and faith. In August 2006, Peter and Valerie emigrated from England to Canada to join their daughter, son-in-law and two grandchildren. Upon arrival, they embraced their new chapter of life that has so far led to 19 years of God given love of precious family and close friends.

Peter is survived by his beloved wife, Valerie, his precious daughter Susan and son-in-law Mark, and grandchildren Sophie (Daniel) and Rosie. He is also survived by his sister Dilys and brother Mike.

Peter is now reunited with his parents and siblings, John, Victor, Barbara, Bernard, Jean, Donald, Phillip, and Audrey who predeceased him.

Peter was a devoted husband, father, brother, and a loyal friend to many. His strong Christian faith was central to his life; he lived it out with integrity, humility, and compassion. Though illness eventually limited his active participation in church life, it only deepened his commitment to prayer and his love for others, which never wavered.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations in Peter’s memory to David and Susan Imbrock at Global Christian Embassy Network.

A wake and remembrance service will be held at Barrhaven Fellowship Christian Reformed Church (Jockvale Road, Nepean) on Friday, May 2, 2025, from 4:00–7:30 p.m. The viewing will take place from 4:00–6:15 p.m., followed by a remembrance service from 6:30–7:30 p.m.
