Background
In honor of our family members who have suffered from cancer please donate to the Okizu Organization: http://okizu.org/
Camp Okizu is an organization dedicated to offering experiences to the families of pediatric cancer patients. At no cost to the families, Camp Okizu offers week-long summer sessions for the patients and their siblings, weekend sessions and daily picnics and excursions for the whole family. These programs aim to allow families time to bond with others that understand what they are going through while offering accommodations that ensure all family members can participate, regardless of their ability level. This camp allows the kids with cancer as well as their siblings to escape their reality, if only for a week or a few days. It allows them to just be kids, and to bond with other who understand what they are going through. Camp Okizu was introduced to our family when our nephew, Chase, was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma in 2008. His siblings, Lulu and Clayton, started as SIBS (special and important siblings) campers and have since chosen to continue their time as counselors. Contribute to Okizu Foundation
