Pete's obituary

Pete Klein was born on March 18, 1949. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree at Yale university. Pete was a great cook, and a talented artist. His incredible talents included painting, woodworking, graphic design, and home renovation. Pete was a model example of great parenting with complete commitment to his family, friends and work. Pete married his beautiful wife Nancy Klein and they lived in a beautiful house on 1861 willow street that Pete helped build. They later had 6 children Adam, Brenda, Courtney, Gali, James, and Werner. He loved his job and become chief at Battalion Stockton fire department. He was blessed to have an abundance of nieces and nephews. He was elated to be able to pass on his career as fire chief to his nephew Donald V Linow. Despite Donald’s struggle as a child he rose above the flames. Taking on such an important role is no easy task. Pete struggled for years with substance abuse due to his ongoing back injuries and still remained a great husband and even better father, family was everything to Pete. His charming personality and wild spirit made him very likable among his town. He will be missed dearly by those who crossed his path. Pete loved water skiing and going on long boat rides. Pete loved collecting rocks, antiques and especially spending time with his family. He enjoyed hiking and backpacking in the Rockies and had traveled to 3 countries. Sadly Pete died peacefully with his wife by his side on July 5th 2021. Pete’s last requests were simple. His wish to be cremated was honored and although not all his family could show up that didn’t stop them from spreading his ashes at the fire station and the lake he had always traveled to as a child. Pete Kleins Celebration Of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 1, in the battalion Stockton fire departments parking lot, 135 W. Main. with Joseph Garfield conducting. Instead of flowers Joseph is asking each guest to please bring five dollars to cover cost and his time.
