I would like to express my deepest condolences to the family of constable Perry Synder during such an unimaginably difficult time of loss. Although I did not have much contact with him, I decided to reach out to his daughter Breanna following a Facebook post she was tagged in. I believe collecting memories and stories of loved ones becomes very important as life moves along and I felt compelled to share my thoughts and appreciation for constable Synder both as an RCMP officer and human. Breanna encouraged me to post my message on this memorial page. In 2024, I found out I was the victim of a notorious SIN fraud scheme which had originated in another country. After immediately contacting the local RCMP, constable Synder was the first to assist me. It’s now 2 years on and the case has been resolved, but I’ll always be so grateful for the support and counsel he provided for a situation I’ve never had to deal with before then, and for the meticulous work he instigated in those initial days during an extremely stressful time. In those interactions, you could easily tell he was a devoted family man and deeply cared for others. Thank you to constable Synder for your service. I know he will be greatly missed. Thank you for taking the time to read and I hope these words offer some comfort. Sending everyone closely connected so much strength, love, and light 🕯️♥️

I really didn't know Perry. He was my neighbor at Del's trailer park. I am at No. 17, across the street. I first met him at Thanksgiving dinner at the clubhouse. We chatted some and had common interest in cribbage, so I invited him for a game and outing at Friday night clubhouse gathering. Wish I had invited him more often, but didn't.
One day when my car was broke down, he came over to give me a boost. That is pretty much all I knew about him. Just those three meetings.
I could see he was in depression at dinner. I so wish that I had visited with him and gotten to know him better. I have depression issues myself and feel I could have helped him. At least to talk about our issues. It may have helped. I'm very sorry. Please accept my condolences.,

A fond memory of Perry with a cougar that had been hit & killed on the highway. The cougar was brought to the detachment to be picked up by conservation. We were all in awe of the cougar! This photo makes me smile & I hope it brings the same for you.

Perry:
Hello, my friend. Maureen and I are both saddened to hear that you have moved on from this time. Your time among us was far too short. I have very clear memories of working along side you and of your big broad smile and wonderful laugh when you accompanied me and my four-legged partner in our efforts to be successful. Your wonderful dedication to your community, to your coworkers and to your work agencies is recognized. Thank you. I did not know your family but I know they will miss you dearly. Maureen and I wish you peace and comfort, wherever you land next.

Very sincere condolences to Perry's family. I worked with Perry as a Sheriff, and later in the RCMP as well. I saw the tremendous obstacles which Perry faced in life, which surpassed what many others I know would face. Further to this, he gave a lot to our community over many years, but received little to nothing in return. If Perry were to comment today he would say "don't worry Steve, I can handle it, let's go fishing or go for a drive and see if we can find a deer". That's the way Perry was. Though sometimes deeply hurting inside, he would soldier on anyways and he tried to do whatever he was doing cheerfully and to the best of his ability. I always admired Perry for his tremendous success in fishing and hunting, which far exceeded the success of anyone I knew. In hindsight, I now believe that this was God's compassionate way of giving Perry a morale boost which was sometimes desperately needed. If I could speak to Perry now, I would thank him very much for his service and for protecting me and keeping me safe during the many hours we were together. Rest easy Perry, you're with the Lord Jesus now.
