Perry's obituary

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Perry Lee Hudgins, who left us on October 21, 2023 at the age of 85. Perry, affectionately known to his family as "Papa," was born on February 22, 1938. His radiant personality, his warmth, wittiness, and politeness, touched the hearts of many. Above all, Perry's legacy will be one of kindness and generosity.

Perry is survived by his beloved wife, Joan Hudgins, his loving children, Steve Hudgins and Terri Hudgins, and his cherished grandchildren, Michael and Clint Coon. He also leaves behind his siblings, Emma, Lyman, and James Hudgins, along with a host of other family members and friends.

Perry had an unmistakable love for his family and his animals, considered his most valued treasure. He found immense joy in the simplest pleasures of life, like indulging in his favorite comfort foods of Twinkies and snack cakes or feeding treats to his adored dogs and horses. His face lighted up at the mention or sight of old westerns shows and vintage classics like Bewitched, which never failed to bring a smile to his face.

His family was the cause dearest to his heart, and he held a special place in his heart for anyone who needed his help. As we mourn Perry's loss, we also celebrate his life and remember the countless ways that he enriched ours. He will forever be missed by his family, friends, and his canine companions. The void left by his departure is immeasurable, but so too is the indelible mark he leaves behind in our hearts. Rest in peace Perry "Papa" Hudgins. Your soul lives on in the love and memories you've left behind.
