I remember meeting a sweet young lady name Debbie when I got a job as a lifeguard at the pool at IUP. I recall the ever present smile and personal interest in anyone and everyone around her. She was dating a guy named Peter while my interest was focused on Margie. While Debbie married Peter and now went by Pepper,  Margie disappeared from my life   

I heard that she moved to AZ but we did not stay in touch. In 2007, I moved from New York to AZ.   I made an effort to look up Pepper.  I was surprised to get to meet Jon. I was fiancially strapped from being out of work for 3 years.   But I did put enough gas in the tank and have enough room on my credit card to take Jon and Pepper to dinner.  They were always friendly and gracious.   I was not able to help much , but enjoyed our time together.  Pepper always had the positive smile.   Over time I had obligations on the reservation and failed to keep in touch. 

Halli and Jon. Your lives have been blessed by having Pepper in your life. 

I will never forget Pepper's many kindnesses. I will miss the occasional get togethers at our family gatherings; our movie date nights with our husbands; and the dinners at her house and at our favorite restaurants. I had such respect for her knowledge about health and well-being. It was a delight to share our perspectives on what mattered the most to us - family, the care of our planet, and caring for humanity. May she blossom into higher states of blissful consciousness as her spirit soars in the vast realm of Heaven.
