Peggy's husband and my father (Julius Spencer) knew each other through the curtain industry. My parents and Peggy kept in touch with each other after Peggy's husband passed away. Upon my father's passing in 2019, Peggy reached out to me, and we would chat from time to time. She was a lovely and loving woman. Sending belated condolences to her family. May her memory be for a blessing.

My condolences to Peggy's family. I met Peggy through my mother-in-law, Anita Clough and her cousin Rosemarie, with whom I'm a still close. Your mom came to my bridal and baby showers with the ladies.  She came to other family events like my son's first bday party in 1993. I had a daughter in 1998. Your mom would always have a little something for the kids when she came to visit. I remember one of the gifts for my son was a math workbook. She knew the importance of education and shared that belief.  She was such a kind woman. A real sweet woman. I'm so sorry for your loss. I know it's a big loss for Rosemarie as well. So nice you mentioned Anita and Roaemarie in this beautiful obituary. If I still lived in NJ, I would have come to the service.

Blessing to you, Lisa Clough.

Cathie Kalipetis

is a story of a longlasting, beautiful friendship that began in our 30s will be remembered forever. encompassed all aspects of our lives. We shared the happys and a few sads; enjoyed all that Lincoln Center had to offer, trips to far away places,as well as to all that our neighbor NYCity had to offer. We shared events in our childrens’ lives as well. I shall be eternally grateful that one day when I was four months pregnant sitting at the pool at Montammy Golf Club someone introduced me to Peggy Ames Sommers. The rest is beautiful history.

Much love and condolences to all of the family and friends who loved Peggy. She was a part of our family in such a special way. Peggy was a constant fixture in our home as we were growing up and present for the special events in our lives, holidays and just regular schooldays (especially Halloween!). She was often in our kitchen with my mom Sandy when I came home and if she wasn't, she was on the phone...almost every single night (for close to 50 years). I truly treasured her and feel so blessed to have had her in my life. She was a caring, and loving person and she always made me feel special. The greatest gift someone can give is to make you know for certain that they love you...she did just that, I know that Peggy loved me and my family.  I will be forever grateful for that gift. I loved you right back Peggy Sommers.💛
