Peggy's obituary
Peggy Chandler Kearns passed away suddenly at the age of 75 on October 15, 2022 and was surrounded by her loved ones. She was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
She was survived by her children Mary McFarland (Ron), Laurie Kearns, Michael Kearns; and her grandson, Derek McFarland She was also survived by her siblings, Charlie Chandler and Debbie Murphy (Greg); and her nieces and nephews Chuck Chandler (Marie), Dale Chandler (Debbie), and Katii Stanford (Taylor), and great niece and nephew Leah Chandler (Charles) and Drew Chandler.
She was a retired school teacher and enjoyed volunteering, particularly with those in hospice and to help empower women. She lived at the Deerfield Springs Retirement Resort where she had many dear friends. Peggy was an avid reader, a fierce opponent in bridge and euchre, and a world traveler. She was well known as an excellent cook and her flower beds were the envy of the neighborhood.
She generously donated her body to UC Medical School and was able to help at least two individuals.
She expressed her wishes not to have a formal funeral. We will be gathering for a celebration of life hosted by her daughters and son-in-law at 7763 Tyler's Reserve Drive, West Chester, OH 45069. Extra parking is available across the street.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Cabbage Patch Settlement House in Louisville, KY. Peggy was particularly passionate about their work to empower at-risk families and children.
