A lifelong friendship comes to an end with Jean's farewell. It all started in 1961 in Hong Kong with a first American-German approach and continued over the years and developed into a true, loving and respectful companionship. It was Jean's unique personality and radiant charm that introduced us to the American way of live - which we cherished gratefully. Through the help of Jean's close friend Mrs. Mabel Lamb we purchased our first house in New Canaan.

Sarinah, Ralf and Alexandra join me in conveying our sympathy to you all, dear Kimberly, Craig and Kent: We sincerely treasure the fact of having been part of the Atherton clan - and that hopefully for many years to come - and thank you for many memorable moments spent with you.
