Peggy's obituary
Peggy Jo Blake went home to be with her Savior on January 22, 2024. Born October 25, 1939, she lived 84 wonderful years, and left the world peacefully, surrounded by her three daughters.
Peggy’s favorite verse was James 3:17-18. "But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness."
This passage encompassed her gifts of generosity, compassion, and hospitality. She had a genuine eagerness to see the good not only in those she knew and loved but also in anyone she met in her daily life. Greeting every person with spirited kindness, it wasn’t uncommon for her to induce a smile or a giggle out of even the most serious person. She had a unique spark that brought life to every room she entered, and her warm personality drew people towards her.
Peggy was devoted to her family. An encourager, mentor, and confidant, she was always the loudest cheerer and the most supportive champion of her loved ones. Her grandchildren were often entertained by her playfulness. Even in her later years, she made them laugh with her spunky spirit and eagerness to chat about their lives.
Peggy lived life to the fullest. She was an avid bridge player, widely read, and her thirst for knowledge was never ending. She spent many vacations camping and fishing with friends and family and was always up for an adventurous road trip. A very creative person, she loved to use her imagination to bring joy to people's lives - whether it be with crazy Halloween costumes or creating meaningful memory books and Christmas ornaments.
Peggy is survived by her three daughters Kim Blake, Lynne Baker, and Kristy Barone, grandchildren Teal Watts, Brooke Baker, Nick and Caleb Barone, and her sister Marie Anne Snyder and brother Dwayne Dargatz.
We invite all who knew and loved Peggy to a Celebration of Life service, to be held on February 17, 2024, at 10:30am at North Coast Church in San Marcos/Escondido. This will be a time to remember the immense love and joy she brought into our lives, and to share the many wonderful memories she leaves behind.
Peggy's passing leaves an unfillable void in our lives, but her enduring spirit and the love she shared will forever remain in our hearts. Though her physical presence is no longer with us, we take comfort in knowing that Peggy is now resting in the arms of her Lord. Her journey here may have ended, but her memory will continue to bring joy to our hearts.
